20 Step Admission Guidance Process
1. Enrollment Formalities
Collection of fees.
2. Signing of Contractual Agreement with GetUniversityAbroad
Process time : Within 24 – 48 working hours from the date of payment of fees.
3. Documentation collection and collation
Process Time : within one working week from enrolment date
Documents List:
- Class 10 mark sheet attested.
- Class 11 and 12 mark sheet.
- Graduation/Postgraduation Transcripts/marksheets as applicable.
- Extra-curricular certificates from school/college
- Sports certificates of school level, state level,and national level.
- Test scores marksheets, IELTS/TOEFL/SAT/GRE/GMAT.
- Any other required documents as desired by the Admissions team.
4. Profile Building - Phase I
Process Time : within 10 days of enrolment
Student to fill PAF (Profile Assessment Form) for providing all student information in academics, extra-curricular activities, choice of country/University preferences, sports activities. Followed by an interactive session with Admission Coordinator with this form for Profile building.
5. University Selection - Master Shortlist
Process time deadlines : Within 20-30 days from the date of PAF Session
Admissions team to start University short listing based on above profile, course choices, geographic location (in USA/Canada/Germany/Europe) preferenceand financial criteria including scholarship probabilities. A master list of 15-25 will be drawn up from a pool of Universities and shared with the student and his/her parents for their acceptance and changes of choice, if any. Post that these 15-25 Universities will be finalized. Changes if any will be carried out following the same above mentioned process cycle if required. Out of these 15-25 Universities/colleges, 4 of them may be short listed for the exams for score sending. Though some of these 4 may not featurein the final choice in case scores aren’t at desirable levels. The 15-25 Universities will be categorized as “A” DREAM, “B” REACHAND “C” SAFE categories. This will be explained to the candidate during this phase by the Admission Guidance (Counselling) team.
6. Student Mentoring -Session 1 (Pre-score, i.e. before IELTS/TOEFL/SAT/GRE/GMAT scores)
Process Time : Mentor will be allocated within 15 days after Master Shortlist
First Pre-score Mentoring session with student background specific mentor (all ex or current foreign University officials or alumni will be conducted in face to face or Skype mode (for outstation candidates). This will provide the student with vital specific information on
- Basics of the application process
- SOP requirements along with University interviewing process with practice sessions.
- LOR requirements
- Some University specific requirements e.g. the Mentor’s own University and Top schools
- Campus facilities and campus life information.
- On campus jobs and
- On and off campus living costs.
- Answers to any other queries student may have.
7. University Correspondence
Process time: Continues process for 45 days from Mentoring Session 1. May overlap pre score and post score time zones.
Student specific admission and scholarship information collection and collation will be carried out by the GetUniversityAbroad Admission team and shared with student and parents. This will be based on the correspondence with the 15-25 Universities already short listed.
8. Post Score University Final Short listing
ProcessTime-Within 30 days of receiving all Test scores, including one English Proficiency Test. Students joining after test score, Master short list and final List of 5-10 Universities will be ascertained.
Based on steps 5 (Master List) & 6 University correspondence), and scores, ananalysis will be done by the Admission team and shared with the student as a brief report and analysis note, recommending 8-10 Universities at most for final applications. Criteria and parameters for this would comprise of :
- Rankings of the college/University
- Affordability factors
- Brand of the University, popularity of the University (known name or not)
- Geographic Location, State/Region/Province (field of study & employ ability factors to be taken)
- Combination of DREAM, REACH and SAFE Universities
- Scholarship probabilities based on scores, profile of student & University matches.
- GetUniversityAbroad “best-fit” Partner University(s).
9. Profile Assessment Form & Profile Building - Phase II
Process Time: within 15 days after post Score Final short listing
To be filled with candidate by the Admission Counsellor as an internal document and is to be handed over to the assigned student specific Mentor, priorto the first Mentoring Session. The PAF form is the complete documentation of the student and is passed on to the SOP Editor during the application phase. AGS team will create an ideal Student Profile for this purpose.
10. Mentoring - 2nd session
Process Time: within 15 days after post Score Final short listing
Mentor will take another 1 hour session for assisting the student in the application process.
- Tips on SOP and LOR
- Final University choice specific tips
- Visa Interview tips.
- Final application related guidance, online application,etc.
- Any other specific guidance related to applications
11. Documentation collection and collation: Final application phase.
By Admissions Counselor and student within one working week from obtaining all test scores.
- Class 10 mark sheet attested by school and USIEF.or notarized
- Class 11 and 12 mark sheet duly attested by school and USIEF. ornotarized
- Graduation/Postgraduation Transcripts duly attested by college and USEIF or Notarized.
- Extra-curricular certificates from school/college
- Sports certificates of school level, state level, national level duly attested and notarized.
- Test scores mark sheets, IELTS/TOEFL/SAT/GRE/GMAT.
- Any other required documents as desired by the Admissions team.
12. L.O.R. - Letters of Recommendation
AGS Counsellor will take inputs from the student on who are his/her recommenders from a)high school b)college c)external tutor d)Current or exboss (for experienced persons) e)University Professor, etc.
Then the recommenders, per University will be selected out these and may differin case of each University. LOR structure, basic content will be given by the SOP Editor and counselling team, and also what the content shouldn’t contain.
13. S.O.P - Statements of Purpose and Personal Essays
The AGS team will assign an Editor to assist the student in writing and creating precise and structured SOPs per University. The student will have to write them him self/her self first, always. This is critical, since Universities are very strict and can make out if the SOP is written by someone else based on their scrutiny. There will be 2-3 iterations.
14. Online and offline Application
Complete hand holding during online application process by admissions team. Document checking, financial documentation assistance and guidance. Couriering all docs after checking. Courier costs as well as application costs will always be separate from the fees. This will be done from Gurgaon office and via Onlinesessions if required for out station students.
15. Application Documentation, financial documentation
Complete documentation checking, collating and financial documentation as per University requirements. Expert guidance during the application process will be given so that all application documentation is as per University guidelines for admission.
16. Post Admission- Visa documentation & Visa Mock Interview sessions
Acceptance emails to the finally selected University. All visa document schecking, and guidance. What documents to carry for the visa interview. Mock visa interview sessions will be carried out prior to the visa interview date. Visa costs will be separate from fees
17. Educational Loan - bank assistance
GetUniversityAbroad will assist the candidate if required with its Educational loan bank associates for the purpose of Educational Loans.
18. Air ticketing Assistance (Optional)
Will be provided if needed at reduced and discounted rates by the GetUniversityAbroad AGS team.
19. Pre-Departure briefing by student mentor
A pre departure briefing will be given to the exiting student prior to their leaving India by the GetUniversityAbroad Admissions team, and also by the mentor. This will include details of expenses during journey, campus expenses, and monthly expenses, campus life, student association and groups on campus and tips on participation in student bodies in the University.
20. Departure Facilitation
Coordination with the University for airport pick-ups and drop to the Campus.
